Grappling-X “Tuff Luv” was held on Sunday February 13^th 2011 at La Jolla High School. In the tradition of San Diego based GX tournaments Tuff Luv was a rousing success with over 500 competitors and 1500 spectators in attendance. These numbers were especially robust considering that the international Pan American Kids tournament was merely a week away. The event went off without a hitch, and many new competitors praised the coordination of the tournament.

In 2010 The Grappling Experience launched its amateur mixed martial arts program, The Amateur Experience.  Amateur mixed martial arts is a medium for athletes to test their skills in the cage under a strict set of guidelines put in place for the fighter’s safety.  Since amateur MMA was sanctioned in California in 2009 Grappling-X has been the leader in providing a safe and professional environment for combat athletes and their supporters.  Grappling-X has received accolades from fighters, fans and even CAMO the sanctioning body for amateur MMA in California.  The Amateur Experience will be expanding in 2011 and beyond with more events in more cities.  Grappling-X is looking forward to bringing amateur MMA to the masses.

The Grappling Experience is proud to announce its first foray into the great city of Portland Oregon.  On Saturday April 2^nd on the campus of Cascade Christian College, Grappling-X will host its first official Gi and NoGi tournament in the Great Northwest.

Grappling X Is very proud the progress/progression that we have made over the past few years.  We will be changing our format all little and really taking the events to the next level.  We will be starting an Adult Gi and No-Gi Ranking System.  We will be posting competitor rankings for each weight Class for Gi and No-Gi based on tournament placing.
