On Saturday April 16th, Grappling-X Fighting 5, took Murrieta by storm. Featuring ten fights the sold out event showed fight fans what GX has in store for the future of its MMA franchise. Every fight had the crowd on the edge of their seats.
White Dragon fighter, Edwin Vedar avenged the loss he suffered in his first fight by stopping Josh Monahan with strikes. Alliance fighter, Ty Holder is also on the come comeback trail with his unanimous decision victory over Mohamed Fakredine. The fans got a glimpse of one who may become the next big thing in GX fighting as Victory fighter Sam Toomer made a spectacular debut by stopping the game Squire Redfern of The Pala Tribe by strikes.
Twenty-five year old wrestler, Kellen Delaney made short work out of his 40 year old opponent Beau Hart getting the TKO in the first round. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, Westminster fighter, Anton Torres, forced Lucas Dyer to tap via Ninja choke. In the main event, heavyweights Rikio Ahara and Al Bose fought to decision in what was a show of true heart by both fighters. Ahara came away with the win.
Other winners on the card were Artie Ortega, Cory Sejura, Mike Hernandez, and Oscar Gonzalez.
